Anya Moryoussef

Anya Moryoussef is the recipient of two Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Medals, most recently the 2021 Emerging Architect Award. She founded her critically acclaimed practice in 2016 and has been a dedicated educator and mentor since 2008, including as a faculty member at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture and University of Toronto John H. Daniels School of Architecture, Landscape and Design.

Moryoussef’s work focuses on elevating the potential of renovation and on vernacular reinterpretation. Known for its expressiveness, restraint and craft, her portfolio has been recognized by AN Interior’s Best of Practice Awards, and the Wallpaper* Architect’s Directory. Her house on Craven Road was an OAA Design Excellence Award Finalist. 

Moryoussef has juried the RAIC awards, is a regular guest lecturer, invited critic, and has been a speaker and panellist for Building Equality in Architecture Toronto and the Toronto Society of Architects. In addition to mentoring young architects, Moryoussef actively seeks collaboration with other emerging industry members to empower a new cohort of emerging professionals.
